Music, Eats, and Live Painting in SOMA

This Sunday, David Choong Lee opened his studio to friends and fellow artists for a barbeque, dj set, and live painting adventure. The White Walls staff was in attendance, as well as artists like Damon Soule, Nome, Brett Amory and Adam Caldwell who collaborated on a number of paintings. David mentioned that these paintings would be kept in his studio for future visiting artists to add their own touch. This is the kind of event that makes the SF art community so special, and we would like to share a piece of the afternoon. Enjoy.

David Choong Lee in AZ

David Choong Lee was beaming when he stopped by White Walls the other day. His road trip to Arizona for the installation of “Sunshine on Cast Shadow” at Joseph Gross Gallery was an all around success: the exhibition turned out beautifully and David had a blast. See for yourself:

David Choong Lee | Bigger and Better

David Choong Lee’s installation last month at Babylon Falling blew us away, and he’s only getting bigger and better. David’s show at Joseph Gross Gallery will be his largest exhibition to date, opening tonight in Tucson, AZ.

This quote tells all:

“Based out of San Francisco’s street art movement, Korean born artist David Choong Lee reflects on social conditions within youth culture, urban environments, and generation ‘next’ tapping into both American and Korean visual aesthetics.”

Babylon Falls Hard

Babylon Falling is going out with a bang. Their final art exhibition, “The End Is Near,” opened this Thursday to a thoroughly impressed crowd. David Choong Lee took the cake with an immense tower of graphic blocks, while C3 blew us away with his immaculate microscopic drawings. Not to mention David Young’s high contrast portraits and a massive tank sporting our beloved bumper sticker, “THE LOIN.” Check out these shots below and be sure say your farewells in person before June 18th.

Get Rich Quick!

“Get Rich Quick!” opened last night at Carmichael Gallery- and we have yet to see if the charm works. Judging by the shots we’ve seen, the big names of urban art are lookin good in one Hollywood ballroom.
